A place away from reel world and edging into reality

The Fire Within

Something is dying inside me, moment after moment—
Can hear the crack, smell the burns.
Made myself whole and placed it in your hands—
All of me!

You picked few pieces of me —
Parts that made you smile, that comforted you,
That loved you and cared for you,
Made you smile and laugh through,
But rest of me lay scattered, unseen, untouched—
Dejected, broken and burning.

It dragged me so deep,
A place where rock bottom was above me.
I could sink no further.
And so, the only way left is up.

The fire that once consumed me will not destroy me—
But burns away my illusions, my blind devotion,
My belief!
It changed me.
And killed something inside me—
Not my strength, not my essence,
But the air palace I had built with all my heart.

Now, from the ashes, I will rise—
Not waiting, not hoping, not pleading.
Just becoming!
Becoming something anew! Something I could hold onto!
